  • its a good friday

What I'm doing at 930pm this good friday night:
Sitting on my bedless pile of blankets,
    with bleach in my hair,
reading an article titled "Neonatal Organophosphorus Pesticide Exposure Alters the Developmental Trajectory of Cell-Signaling Cascades Controlling Metabolism: Differential Effects of Diazinon and Parathion"
dissolving red and purple skittles in some shots of vodka,
enjoying the smell coming from my roommate making pancakes from a 10lb bag of mix,
enjoying the Hawaiian breeze coming through our window,
listening to the Circ du Soleil Algria soundtrack,
playing hide-and-seek with the bunny while trying as hard as possible to not stand up,
dreaming about places I want to live

    Its a good night.

UPDATE: now eating pancakes with huckleberry merlot jam.  :D

  • stream of consciousness rant = large mass of text

When you hold the opinion that not many other people see on the same level, you naturally keep it somewhat on the down-low.  When you find like minded people, naturally you open up.  If someone expresses the ability to sit through your explanation, which may or may not be rational in their opinion, you believe maybe, just maybe, their views will be changed and they'll change their opinion to match yours. Not so.  People have to make that change themselves.  They have to seek people to learn from, and seek information that is not given to them. They have to question the norm and wonder how the norm came to be.  There is no right or wrong, evil or good.  Its all relative. No matter how rational you are, or think you are, people are set in their ways until there is an internal push.  The best you can do is lead by example and hope they can see it through cloudy eyes.

I'm so irritated by the general population of kids my age.  They see and they believe.  They read and they believe.  They hear and they believe.  In a matter of two mnintues, a source of "authority" is enough to convince them forever more of a partially stitched together opinion of a mtter far more involved than a simple overview of the problem and the opinion of an author.

  • Its funny how around this time of year, I always go back to the same somewhat obsessions that I had the previous year.  And the year before that.  And the year before that.

Right now, its art.  Drawing, painting, coloring, photography.
Also: bleaching my hair blond.  Not the dirty yellow color, but a whitish blond.  Something that's obviously not natural, something that's obviously takes some maintenance, but also something not a lot of people attempt.

Its always, ALWAYS March and April when I started obsessing over these things.  Many times to the detriment of my schoolwork.
